Luxury is freedom

In the most refined establishments, mountain architecture often reflects a relaxed luxury that elegantly mixes chic urban style and alpine simplicity. Farms and chalets have been redeveloped to create unique places at the foot of the mountains.

The oldest buildings at altitude have a structure entirely made of stone or stone and wood. The colors range from honey to chocolate with immaculate accents to recall the snow or shades of intense red, fir green or midnight blue to evoke the landscapes and traditions of the village.

Facing due south to be exposed to the sun’s rays for as long as possible, contemporary reconstruc tions follow these ecological and sustainable dictates by always looking for the best materials to combine comfort and aesthetics.

Since the 1930s, with the expansion of the concept of ski vacations, chalets have become more and more comfortable.

These real shelters for the night display a warm decor and are equipped with the comfort of hot water and electricity. T he architectural styles vary of course from region to region. Each has its ancestral particularities and the architects play differently with the balconies for the view or the storage of wood and the gabled roofs.

The explosion of winter tourism has given rise to new villages, sports sites, ski resorts and also to the rebirth of sleepy hamlets.
